About

CityDance Conservatory trains young dancers ages 7–18 for professional careers. We offer world-class instruction in ballet, contemporary, and commercial dance forms from renowned faculty across our locations in North Bethesda at the Music Center at Strathmore, in Rockville, and Falls Church.

Conservatory students have won YAGP Hope and Grand Prix awards at New York City Finals and have received scholarships to prestigious summer programs including Nederlands Dans Theater, Batsheva, and The Royal Ballet. Alumni have studied at Juilliard, the School of American Ballet, the John Cranko School, and the Royal Ballet School and are now performing with companies such as Wayne McGregor, the Royal Ballet, and American Ballet Theatre, among others.

Aminah's foundational dance education includes training from Jones- Haywood Dance School, CityDance Conservatory, and SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance. While at these institutions Aminah has strengthened their knowledge, execution and experience in Ballet, Pointe, Contemporary/Ballet/Improvisational Partnering, Improvisation, Contemporary and Contemporary Ballet, Jazz, West African, and Modern (Graham, Horton, Dunham, Limon, and Swing/Release Technique).

Aminah has received scholarships to perform/ train with Deeply Rooted Dance Theatre, Koresh Dance Company, GALLIM, Philidanco, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Brucewood Dance and Netherlands Dans Theatre. Aminah is teaching, private coaching, and choreographing all over the DMV. All whilst, being a freelance dancer all over the U.S.

Katherine Weaver, B.A. McGill University, is excited to join the CityDance team as Development and Social Media Assistant. As a former collegiate and international level sailor, Katherine holds a great appreciation for the environment CityDance Conservatory provides young people in their journey towards mastery and performance at the highest levels of dance. She brings a love for the arts as well as proven experience in fundraising and external communications.

Parking

All day parking is available in the Metro Parking Garage for $5.10 on weekdays and free on the weekends.  Payment is accepted with SmartTrip Metro Cards or credit cards. Strathmore is easily accessible form the 4th floor of the parking garage via a pedestrian bridge that will take you directly to the 3rd floor of the building.

Short-term parking is available at the meters on Tuckerman Lane.  Drop off for students is located at street level in the circle drive off of Tuckerman Lane.  When entering the building from the circle drive, take the stairs or elevator to the third floor.

There is no parking or dropping off in the Strathmore Mansion lot.  Violators will be towed.
